Set in the heart of Missouri Wine Country, 4M Farms & Vineyards/Rosati Winery enjoys a rich history in the grape and wine business, going back to the 1800's when Italian immigrants found this lush region reminiscent of the vineyards they had to leave behind in Italy.  The Rosati Winery was built in 1922 by the Knobview Co-op in order to allow grape growers to ship their grapes by train to the St. Louis markets.  In 1933, following the dry years of prohibition, the winery began to produce fine wine in the cement vats and white oak barrels in the  cellars. The fragrance of that fine wine still lingers in the air today.  In 1934, the community petitioned for the name to be changed to Rosati in honor of Bishop Rosati, the first Catholic Bishop west of the Mississippi.

In December of 1996, the winery that had been empty and neglected  for many years was purchased by Marvin and Donna Rippelmeyer.  Marvin and Donna have researched the history of the winery and vineyards and have undertaken the historic restoration of the winery to preserve a piece of Ozark and Route 66 history for neighbors and visitors.
